Adam Phillips
This guy used to work for Disney and then discovered the magical world of Flash animation. I never knew there were actually awards for Flash animation, but he's won a few. Go figure.

"No Wastemen: A Night of UK Grime" @ The Boat. Feb 3, 10:30, $5.
The paintings i'm throwing up at this show are the basis of what the animations will look like.
Nik's website proposal
I'm lame at proposals, but my idea is to hand-draw hundreds and hundreds of frames and make messy short animations, pieced together in flash. the website will be built around and based on the content of these animations.
guess its time to get drawing.
i'll be there next class.

Yot's Proposal
The most important part of this project is to find the happy medium between having an entertaining research and presentation aspect along with a responsible research method. I do not want to get carried too far off track, but my topic is currently broad and covers many aspects of post-production media. I guess first, compositing and FX should be understood as the horizontal version of editing. Images are placed upon images within 3D-Z space (aka forward/backward). Within compositing you can add any type of media too.

As of now I think I will major my topic's scope on FX post-production. Thus, I will show the final product and the process involved to get there. This is because people are always interested in peeking behinde the currtin. Also I feel compositing is the way you compile the "data" and therefore not my central idea.
Guiness CommercialThen check this out...
Making of the Guiness Commerical
This should give you an idea of what kinda stuff I want to cover. I also want to discuss the communities I am involved in like
Tween This blog is shows some of the greatest motion graphic stuff I have ever seen... an important aspect of FX.
A nice VH1 montage/intro
As for my personal site, I am on the fence on whether I will add a blog to document my process of Special FX in the film I am working on. I do not want to completely ignore my process work either. I think I am going to critique the work that's out there and go over the more interesting concepts through development and application.

I won't go too graphics heavy with my site, within the levels of design, because that is not my interest. I am more concerned about content and organization of that content... aka ease of use.
So this is the baby steps involved in what I will introduce to all of you guys, and I hope you enjoy this process.

Indecent Proposal
by Lucas
So here's what I'm thinking of doing for my final assignment;
Working in the back room of a thrift store, one of my favourite things is when people donate old notebooks and binders which (whether they realize it or not, I'm not sure) usually contain a lot pf pages with notes, scribbles, doodles, names and phone numbers, To-Do lists, bad high school poetry, and other such musings. I collect these and scrapbook the good ones. So, for my final assignment I think I would like to create an online scrapbook of these orphaned pages, which I will entitle "Lost & Found".
Timeline:I can have all of the content assembled by mid-Febuary, and the basic HTML in place by the beginning of March. Then it will be a question of scanning, resizing, and placing the images within the format of the pages themselves.

P.S. If anyone is looking for some free webspace without banners or any of that shit, I suggest going

Three Sites
Here are the links that I like to look at. The first two, I just like the kind of work that is in it and the last one, I use to find different kind of font styles. So here they are:

My 3 sites...(Re-done)
I have updated my links to fit my specific interest in post production within the field of compositing:
http://www.fxguide.com/ The most current library of behind the scenes interviews and how-to's in the post production community.
http://forums.creativecow.net/An amazing group of after effects gurus who solve all issues at hand, and a friendly overall community
http://www.justincone.com/tween/Possibly the most comprehensive accumulation of current motion graphics in film and advertising.

Welcome. This is your blog - so please, use it!
A blog provides a forum for class discussion and debate, and best of all - it is a site where all the class can review and comment on each other's projects and ideas. No longer does the teacher have the only access to assignments as they come in. I feel this is a very appropriate type of learning conversation for Publications: Digital. A significant part of your class participation mark will be based on your participation in the blog. So, check this blog often and comment whenever you read an entry!
